No. You can reserve your dates with no deposit and pay the full amount in cash at our office in Ha Giang. If you would rather secure it online, you can pay a deposit by card through OnePay — that route carries the 5% bank fee.

We run semi-automatic bikes as standard because they handle the passes far better. Fully automatic scooters can be arranged on request — tell us when you book and we will confirm availability.

To ride legally in Vietnam you need a Vietnamese licence or an International Driving Permit with an A2 motorcycle category. If you do not have one, book an easy rider and enjoy the views from the back seat — most of our guests do.

Not on its own. We do a practice loop around the block in Ha Giang city before we leave, and if you are not comfortable after that we will put you behind an easy rider instead. There is no pressure and no penalty.

Your guide carries tools and knows every mechanic on the route. Breakdowns are rare and repairs on our bikes are our cost, not yours.

The roads are mountain roads — narrow, sometimes wet, with drops. Our guides are trained in safety, we ride at the pace of the slowest rider, and we provide helmets, knee and elbow pads. We also cancel or reroute when conditions are genuinely bad rather than push through.

Yes. Leave your big luggage at our office in Ha Giang city free of charge and take a small backpack with 2–3 days of clothes on the bike. Everything is waiting for you when you come back.

A light jacket and long trousers for the passes, a swimsuit for the waterfalls, sunscreen, any personal medication, and your passport. Helmets, raincoats and knee pads are provided.

Yes, every homestay has sockets, though not always one per bed. Bring a multi-plug or a power bank if you shoot a lot of video.

Clean, simple and run by local families. The Classic tours use shared rooms (mattresses in a row, mosquito nets, shared bathroom). The Premium tours use private rooms with an en-suite. Hot water is available at every stop we use.

Yes, easily — tell us when you book so we can warn the homestays in advance. Vegan, gluten-free and no-pork are all routine for us.

All meals on the loop are included: breakfast, lunch and dinner on the full days, breakfast and lunch on the last day. Drinks are not.

Overnight sleeper bus or limousine from Hanoi, about 6–7 hours. We book these for our guests at cost. The bus arrives around 5am and we start with breakfast at the office.

Yes, and please check that your policy covers riding a motorbike — many exclude it, or require a valid licence for the engine size. This is the single most common gap we see.
